About Us
Garden House Lane publishes high-quality, tried and tested individual maths programmes and workbooks.
Penelope Loveday is a qualified teacher who has taught hearing and deaf children of all ages. She also holds the Diploma of the British Association of Teachers of the Deaf (BATOD), the Hornsby Distance Learning Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD/Dyslexia) and is an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA).
Step by Step Times Tables and Hands Free Number Bonds were written as Penelope, in her role as independent tutor, was unable to source structured, cumulative, multi-sensory books introducing the times tables and number bonds in the three ticks to success format: a programme that works.
About Time was written as Penelope was unable to source a how to tell the time workbook introducing analogue and digital time along-side one another from the start.
All three books are the result of many years’ experience teaching children of all abilities including many with Specific Learning Difficulties.
Anne Loveday is presently studying at university. Without her expertise and patience during a gap year, the time workbook would never have passed beyond being a series of photocopiable worksheets made using messy rubber-stamped clock faces!
Without Anne’s valuable input, the book would never have been published, and children would continue to struggle to tell the time. About Time makes learning the vital life skill of telling the time easy.
